Meet the Team - Sue Le Marchand

What inspired you to get involved with Pain Support Jersey?

A very good friend of mine knew I was transitioning from full-time to part-time work and invited me to join her as a volunteer and committee member in this growing charity.

Can you tell us a bit about your role at Pain Support Jersey and what you enjoy most about it?

I’m a committee member, currently responsible for maintaining the membership records. You’ll often find me at the outdoor gentle exercise sessions. It’s wonderful to see how new members progress on their journey with us.

How do you feel your skills or experiences make a difference in the work you do here?

With a background in financial business, I bring skills in administration, IT, compliance, and policies and procedures. I’ve also volunteered in Girl Guiding for many years, so I’m experienced in working with groups of people.

Is there a particular moment or memory at the charity that stands out as special to you?

Being asked to be part of the team representing the charity at Government House for the Jersey Charity Awards in 2023.

What’s one thing you look forward to when working with the Pain Support Jersey team?

Meeting our members and seeing how much they get out of the events we hold. I love joining in, having a chat, and, most of all, having a laugh!

If you could give one piece of advice to someone thinking about getting involved with Pain Support Jersey, whether as a member, volunteer, or supporter, what would it be?

We’re a small charity with a big community spirit, and we’ll welcome you in any capacity.

How would you describe the Pain Support Jersey team in just three words?

One big family.
